SPRING INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE
Pali Blues Soccer Club – based in Pacific Palisades – has internships available for the Spring 2008 semester. The Pali Blues will begin their inaugural season in 2008 operating a team in the W-League of the United Soccer Leagues – currently the highest level of women’s soccer in North America.
Pali Blues has internships available in the following areas:
• Marketing: Work with the Pali Blues marketing team to develop the Pali Blues fan base. Responsibilities include overseeing ticket sales, researching and executing promotional opportunities, and creating awareness of the Pali Blues organization in the local community.
• Operations: Work with the Pali Blues operations crew to manage the day-to-day operations of the organization. Responsibilities include preparing for the Pali Blues gameday presentation, assisting in the calculation of an operations budget, maintaining an inventory, and facilitating the operations of every part of the organization.
• Media Relations: Develop and execute a plan to expand Pali Blues’ presence in the media. Responsibilities include maintaining a dialogue with media outlets, identifying new media opportunities, press release composition and distribution, creation of feature ideas for the Pali Blues website and coordinating media credentials for Pali Blues events.
• Corporate Sales: Research, develop and execute sponsorship plans. Responsibilities include researching potential companies, contacting companies and planning sponsorship plans.
• Technology: Help place Pali Blues Soccer on the cutting edge of technology. Responsibilities include the development of the Pali Blues website and multimedia presentations, participation in all Pali Blues audio and video production, and researching new technological opportunities for the organization.
• Street Team: The Pali Blues team will be attending several events in the community throughout the season. We are looking for a few people that would be attending these events—setting up the tent, handing out promotional material and interacting with our fans. (Office hours are not required for the Street Team).
Pali Blues internships offer a great opportunity for hands-on involvement in the operation of a sports franchise. The areas of specialization for these internships are flexible and can be customized to the interests of specific candidates. Soccer background preferred but not necessary. Pali Blues internships are volunteer positions.
