Pacific Palisades, Calif. (Tuesday, March 9, 2010) – Pali Blues Soccer Club head coach Charlie Naimo continues to build a proven roster for the team as it aims for a record third consecutive USL W-League championship this season, announcing today the signing of defender Christie Shaner. A proven winner, Shaner comes to the Blues after spending 2009 with Sky Blue FC and the Los Angeles Sol of Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS).

"We are excited to have Christie, as she comes with WPS qualities,” Naimo said of Shaner. “By the time our season starts, we expect her to be fully recovered from the leg injury that ended her Sol season and ready to lead this team."

BLUES RECEIVE PALISADES JUNIOR WOMEN'S CLUB GRANT

On Tuesday, March 2 the Pali Blues were the grateful recipients of a grant from the Pacific Palisades Junior Women’s Club. The grant for $1,500 is not only a valuable step in helping keep the team here in the Palisades, it will also help the Pali Blues launch an exciting new initiative of in-school presentations delivered by Blues players. On the heels of 90+ kids attending a Pali Blues / Hollywood United soccer clinic over the weekend it has be a great couple days for community outreach! Of course, the Pali Blues still have a long way to go in raising the funds to support our 2010 campaign. If you have an organization, or are an individual interested in supporting the Blues please contact GM Jason Lemire at jason@bluessoccerclub.com. Thank you!
