Pacific Palisades, Calif. (Thursday, June 11, 2009) - The defending national champion Pali Blues Soccer Club hope to add a little extra meaning to their upcoming game against conference rivals Ventura Fusion with their first annual Pali Blues Teddy Bear Toss. The game, benefiting the children and families of Upward Bound House and The Elevate Hope Foundation, kicks off Sunday, July 5, at 1PM at the Palisades High School Stadium-by-the-Sea.

To support the event, the Pali Blues encourage all fans to bring a new or slightly used teddy bear to the stadium. Discounted teddy bears will also be available to purchase courtesy of game day sponsor Mountain Meadow Ranch Summer Camp.

The Pali Blues Soccer Club (6-0-3) finished their regular season away schedule with a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Legends (1-6-2). After an exciting and high scoring first half of play, the Blues held on to get the victory.

“It ended up being a good win” stated Blues head coach Charlie Naimo. “I thought we played well in the 2nd half, but we need to put 90 minutes together.”
