2012 WPS Draft
Pali's Cami Levin selected 4th overall by Sky Blue FC

Los Angeles, Calif. – Women’s Professional Soccer held its annual draft on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention in Kansas City, Mo. One player from the 2011 Pali Blues’ roster was drafted, and that was Cami Levin, selected 4th overall by Sky Blue FC.

“Levin is a versatile player who brings many intangibles to our team,” said Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra on his decision. “She is a brilliant attack-minded defender, and she has the talent to play almost anywhere on the field.”

Naimo to Coach Blues Men and Women in 2012
Will again take charge of Pali Blues after previously leading W-League side to back-to-back titles.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.  It was less than four months ago that the Pali Blues finished their 2011 season with a heartbreaking 0-0 tie against Santa Clarita that saw the W-League standout side fall one win short of reaching the playoffs. Now current men’s Head Coach Charlie Naimo is announcing his decision to personally take charge of returning the Blues women to their championship-winning ways from the 2008 and 2009 campaigns. Back then they were also coached by Naimo, who took this year off to fully focus on the men’s inaugural season in USL PRO.

McCarty Leads Seminoles' Charge
By Nicholas Murray

It’s been a remarkable 12-month journey for Florida State’s Tiffany McCarty.

This time last year, the junior was sitting out with a medical red-shirt after a tumor was found in her jaw, requiring surgery that ended her 2010 season for the Seminoles prematurely, watching her teammates fall 5-0 in Palo Alto, Calif. to Stanford.

Guajardo Called Up to Mexican National Team

Los Angeles, Calif. Pepperdine junior Anisa Guajardo had an outstanding season for the Pali Blues this summer. She tallied four goals and added three assists, giving her 13 points for the season, the most on the team along with Tiffany McCarty (five goals and one assist). This fall, the forward from Clovis, Calif. continued to be a big factor in the attack for the Waves where she scored nine goals and four assists, leading the team with 22 total points.
