Game Summary:
Pacific Palisades, Calif. - The Pali Blues defeated Loyola Marymount 1-0 on Saturday, April 19th, bringing their overall record to 10-0-1 with nine shutouts.This was the fifth game of the Blues’ preseason campaign. With this win, the team remains undefeated.
The combination of Mele French and Rosie Tantillo is working on becoming a deadly one, as the duo teamed up again for a goal. French scored the only goal of the game off a pass from Tantillo. The goal was French’s third of the preseason and Tantillo’s second assist.
The team has also added one last game to their preseason schedule, where they hope to go into the W-League season on a six-game winning streak. Their final preseason game will be at Northridge on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at 2:45 pm.
Here’s what Head Coach Charlie Naimo had to say:
"We were happy to get another result, but it was the second game in a row that the team did not show its class. We were good at times, but there is more. LMU did a great job. They had a couple of players in their attack that were very dangerous. We have been in preseason for over two months now, and I think we are ready for proper league play."
