The Pali Blues Soccer Club would like to acknowledge the recent successes of the Laguna Niguel Rave, a GU–13 team based out of Orange County. Halfway through their 2008 Silver South League campaign the team has lost only 1 game.
The Laguna Niguel team was recently written about in the Daily Orange County Soccer News. The article featured the teams most recent contest results as well as mentioning the “Rave’s” devotion to fellow teammate Natalie Herberg, who missed the match because she had to have her appendix removed. The Laguna Niguel girls drew Herberg’s number thirteen on their forearms and used their teammate’s absence as motivation to down their opponent, the North Irvine SC Lions by a score of 2–0.
Pete McNulty and John Giacchino, who have demonstrated tremendous dedication to the team, coach the Laguna Niguel Rave. Together they have created a high standard for the team’s performance and have even brought in a company called “Fitness Together.” Each week FT puts on a strength and conditioning program teaching the team proper technique and new skills, while increasing their fitness.
In five games this season, the Laguna Niguel Defense has surrendered just one goal and are led by keeper Gwen Balmer. The Pali Blues Soccer Club would like to honor the Laguna Niguel Rave for their commitment to teamwork and tremendous success in League.
