A Confession by Mo B.

What makes Nancy, Monique and Becky travel 3,000 miles to hear the phrase “man on”? One word – addiction.
All three are in need of treatment but refuse to get help. Instead, they put themselves in constant proximity of their vice- the Pali Blues, an undefeated women’s soccer team that has them checking out of reality and into their hotel.
“I needed a fix,” quipped Nancy, whose last name will go unmentioned. “I needed to scream, to stand up and be overtaken by the fumes of victory.
"The rush is something I never experienced,” she adds. “It’s a feeling I get when I see them passing the ball. I want them to pass it my way.”
“I’m not proud of my addiction,” Monique admits. “I have two kids and a husband I have to face. I left them but they know I’ll come back. I always do, but I’m always affected.”
“I shouted the words, ’man on’ before I realized it wasn’t my place,” added Becky.
That’s part of being under the influence, you don’t really know when you’re in the game or just a fan being consumed by the excitement.
The three fans are considering group rehab. But they are concerned that they won’t be able to cheer on their favorite sports team the Pali Blues, the hardest working athletes around and clearly something to be influenced by.
