The Western New York Flash, Philadelphia Independence, and magicJack have a spot in the playoffs, while the final spot is still up for grabs for the Boston Breakers or Sky Blue FC to take. Boston can go through with a win, and all Sky Blue needs is a tie for at least one post-regular-season match.

Hubka, McCarty, and Eddy score one goal each
Eagle Rock, CA – The Pali Blues played their next to last match of the 2011 regular season Friday against LA Strikers FC, a team they had previously defeated, 1-0, earlier this year. The Blues were able to get three points from their second meeting with the Strikers, but this time by a 3-0 margin at Patterson Field, on the campus of Occidental College.
The match began as a battle in the midfield with both teams trying to keep possession of the ball and settle in. Pali created more chances early on, however, and a goal in the 19th minute of play seemed to set the tone for the rest of the match.
Pali Suffers 1-1 Draw against Colorado Rush
Pali comes back to tie the match after Rush takes lead
Pacific Palisades, CA – The Pali Blues played their final home match of the season against the Colorado Rush on Saturday, July 2nd at Stadium by the Sea on the campus of Palisades High School. After the Rush took the lead in the 62nd minute, the Blues came back one minute later tying the game 1-1.
Head coach Jacob Tudela was not satisfied with the disappointing result. “If you look at it statistically, I think we were unfortunate,” said Tudela. “We still have to be much more creative in the final third. We possessed the ball extremely well, but we’re still not creating enough.”
Blues defeat Force 2-0
Shaner, Gordon score for Pali while defense allows two shots from Force
Pacific Palisades, CA – The Pali Blues returned home to Stadium by the Sea to take on the Colorado Rush Thursday night at Pacific Palisades High School. The Blues dominated the match and limited the Force to only two shots while earning a 2-0 victory.
Head coach Jacob Tudela shared his thoughts on the match. “We played our style, we possessed the ball and we dictated the match for 90 minutes,” he said. “We didn’t let the Force take us out of our element until maybe the last 15 minutes. Our defenders responded really well from the away trip where we conceded goals. The awesome stat is that we didn’t allow a shot on target and only allowed two off target. It was a good three points, and a well-deserved win for the girls.”

After a 3-hour plane ride, a 3-4 hour drive (the team starving the entire time), an overnight stay at a Super-Duper 8 (oh can't forget the diner with pipe-cleaners and modern art), a 2-hour ferry ride and then a short and sweet 35-minute drive, it was finally game day!! (vs. the Victoria Highlanders).
