BLUES HOSTING TWO THIS WEEK

There will be two exciting home games this week at the Palisades Stadium-by-the-Sea for the still undefeated Pali Blues, who preserved their unblemished record in dramatic fashion last week in Colorado.

The game Thursday June 17 at 7pm is poised to feature the first home appearances by the Danish duo of Cathrine Paaske-Sørensen and Julie Rydahl Bukh. How good are the two midfielders who regularly pull the strings for the full Danish National Team? Very good. For more on Cathrine and Julie click here.

The game Saturday June 19 at 4pm will feature the Pali Blues 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss! Fans are encouraged to bring as many stuffed animals as they can get their hands on to the Palisades Stadium-by-the-Sea for this wonderful charity event. Here is how it works: fans bring bags of bears and when the Blues score their first goal fans THROW THEIR STUFFED ANIMALS ON THE FIELD IN CELEBRATION!!! All stuffed animals will then be donated to the children of FirstStar, a vital non-profit working to support foster kids across America.

Last week in Colorado the Blues faced familiar foes in the Colorado Force and expansion team the Colorado Rush. Against the Force the Blues went down early, facing a similar one goal deficit as last season’s Western Conference playoff game. Again the Blues responded with a flurry of goals, the game ending 3-1, including a fantastic bicycle kick by Ali Hawkins. The game versus the Rush once again challenged the Blues resolve, this team requiring a stoppage time goal from Dani Toney, of a counter attack launched by Hikari Nakade, to secure a 2-2 draw.
