With a roster that continues to showcase an international flare, the Pali Blues are poised to give opposing defenders fits with a pair of exciting new additions from across the Pacific.
The first, Emi Yamamoto, represented her home country of Japan at the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup where she participated in all three 1st Round matches, scoring a goal in a 6-0 rout of Argentina to start the tournament. Answering the call a year later, she represented Japan at the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics where she scored a goal against the United States in a quarterfinal loss.
Hikari Nakade joins the Blues after representing Japan with a quality showing that caught the eye of Coach Naimo at the 2008 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
"As a big fan of the Japanese style of football I am so excited that we were able to add two players that have been in the Japanese National Team program," stated Pali Blues Head Coach Charlie Naimo. "Emi and Hikari along with our other international players will really provide a mature and sophisticated attacking influence on the team this year."
